Centrally located + huge soaking spa Convenient location right off the Japanese Railroad Station and connected to a huge mall with shops and restaurants. We rented a car for our ski trip in Hokkaido and Sapporo as a side trip. The hotel is centrally located among commercial and business district. The larger seafood market is only about over 10 minuets drive. We had a deluxe twin bed room on executive floor. It has a grand view of Sapporo, with miles of city views and distant mountains right in front of us. However, the size of the room and bathrooms are quite modest and the room dates itself. We find Japanese mattresses tend to be on the harder side compared with the US standard, but are still fine for us. The generously heated toilet seat is something we really ook forward to coming back from a cold winter night. :-) On the facility side, everyone has to squeeze in at least 1 hour for the soaking spa at the hotel. It's gender specific and charges a very small daily fee. The soaking spa is such a culture experience, unique to most east Asian countries/regions, including northeast China region, Korea, Taiwan and Japan. It is a must experience for women and men of all ages who travel to these countries. JR's spa facility is slightly dated, but made up for it with its multiple soaking pools with varying tempretures, a water massage pool, and an extremely hot sauna and a steam room. You do need to prepare for and respect the tradition of entering the spa with your skin only. One gets used to it very quickly, I promise. :-) Pay a little extra for a full body scrub right in the facility. Simply heavenly.

The hotel was in a very central location. It is walking distance, less than 5 minutes to the subway stations and also JR Sapporo station. You can take the airport express which stops at JR Sapporo station but we decided to take a taxi from the airport. We went via the highway so it costs a little more because of toll charges. In total we paid about 16,500 yen and it took about 1 hour. Room we booked was their basic room so was about 24-25sqm. We only stayed 1 night as we travelled to Hakodate the next day. check-in process was smooth. Wifi strength was good and we were able to completely open a large luggage in the room. One thing that was good was the various bathroom accessories they provided. We arrived for breakfast, the next day at about 7.50am and were shocked to see many people waiting for breakfast also. We were given a number and had to wait about 25min before we were assigned a table but I have to say, they were very organised when it came to managing the breakfast crowd. Breakfast was decent but was quite surprised it wasn't as much I would expect for a 5-star hotel. You are given 1 hour to eat during breakfast. It was a good stay and the best part was its proximity to malls and the JR Sapporo station.

This was our first visit to Sapporo but I can guarantee we'll be back - and this is the property we'll be staying at. The location is perfect for getting around (the subway, shinkansen, and bus systems are all connected to the JR Tower complex), the views were gorgeous, and the room itself was blissfully comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to assist us, and were incredibly kind when answering questions - even when the language barrier tried to get in the way. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, too, and I definitely recommend going early to not only avoid the rush but to take in the gorgeous views as the fog burns off toward the mountains. All in all, a wonderful stay.

Perfect location - connected to the train station and an infinite underground passage with shops, restaurants and subway stations. Very attentive staff - accompanying you to the elevators and assisting during breakfast. Spectacular views of the city and trains. Thorough room service. Room cleaned and amenities re-filled thoroughly every day. Everything clean. Big room, bathroom with both a bath and a shower. Very good breakfast - a selection between traditional Japanese set breakfast or a buffet with both Japanese and western style food. My expectations were set very high (considering the price we paid) but the hotel did not fail.

The bathroom had onsen style and lots of amenities that make you feel like you checked into an onsen without going to their paid onsen floor. Breakfast was also extensive and any picky eater would be able to find something, and all their food were delicious. whenever we needed something from housekeeping, like extra towels, they were sent very fast. They also kept our bags for us while we went for a short trip to Hakodate and put them in our new rooms when we returned. Location is just on top of JR station although it is a bit of a walk if you are carrying many bags.
